Why Get Weighed?

โ€œAt least 91% of our clients are over one or more compliance limits between their towing combination, and up to 98% are unbalanced side-to-sideโ€.

Tow vehicles and trailers have specific weight compliance limits that are enforceable under the law. If any of these weight limits on the vehicle and/or trailer are exceeded they are classified as an unroadworthy vehicle and you could be fined, lose demerit points and it could lead to having insurance policies voided, meaning that in the event of an accident, insurance claims may be denied and not paid out. The worst-case scenario is if there is an accident that includes a death/s and it was determined that the tow vehicle and/or caravan was overloaded not only might the insurance claim be rejected but the driver could also be up for jail time.

We weigh combinations correctly.

AusWide Weighing & Safety use the blocking method when weighing combinations. We have done studies and experiments that proved when the combination is not weighed at the same height there are discrepancies with weight which can range anywhere between 10kg and 50+kg. These weight discrepancy can be the difference of your caravan and/or tow-vehicle being overweight. Not using the blocking method is guessing weight, this is not accurate.
